Happy Happy Pine Scented Christmas

I want to wish everyone happy holidays. I am excited to open my gift from Keph tomorrow morning. Always exciting to witness the opening of packages. I don't really care about opening them, I enjoy watching others opening their presents to see the expression on their faces.

I gotz a couple of days off so I''m going to try and keep my mind idle and numb and do normal things such as eating and playing. Yipper yip yip yippity.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS,

End of a Semester Blue-Lemons

I gosta say I love my friends and teachers at the college. I wish we could have had a big party after the presentations today. Everyone was in rare form letting off all the built up pressure. It was great, everyone was laughing and sharing presentation stories.

I'm really proud of my group. We worked and stuck together like a team. The crazy thing was that it wasn't hard at all. Not one selfish or lazy person in my group. My favorite part was getting in a circle in Betty Jo's office and pepping ourselves up. We knew our products and we knew our designs and for that I was very proud. Oh I just remembered that I owe Lilly 9 dollars for the magnets.

Lilly also bought me a Cap with Stude embroidered on the side and she also made one for Keph which he loves. Shmee and Vic got me a yummy smelling candle and the cutest little tree ornament. I loves it all. Thank you everyone.

I'm sad writing this knowing that a great semester at school is over with. 2007 is comming up and so far its looking to be a good year. I'm excited!

Candles. Enough said.

To all my friends, I'll miss you all dearly over the break...

Stude.

Home Stretch

In the home stretch now. It was oh so grand to find out that they have me scheduled for 38 hours next week. As I was saying earlier today, I have the opportunity to intern at Source 4. Hopefully I will be able to give a two weeks notice soon. Not having to work nights or weekends will really free up time and I can actually help keph on his homework and I can do projects that I have been meaning to do like my portfolio site.

The only thing left to do is print out my Ad campaign for Team Coleman. I had a great team, all participated equally and everyone generated creative ideas. Had lunch at Nanasan today. Fun times with A.D. checking out the waitresses lemons. I can't believe this semester is over. Its seems like we have only been in school a couple of months. I have to say it has been a grand semester.

Working like Dolly pardon (9-5)

Skipped lunch today to come home and work. Time with friends will suffer for the next week and a half. I'm catching up on my projects so I'm feeling better than at the end of this last weekend. I also scanned some luscious lomo today. They were shot with the film that Lily gave me, Fuji 1oo film that expired in Feb of 97'. glorious colors. I do love them. Also thinking about starting to shoot some band photography with my lomo. I've been inspired by the work of A.D. So we may both be shooting El Dora, a band from Mt. Airy and here. A.D. will be shooting his signature digital goodness with some sweet post processing while I'll give the ol' Lomo shot.

Concepts

I was really excited today to see that Conceptshare.com finally went live. They have been in beta for quite some time. I think concept share could be a very valuable tool for any designer. To give Team Coleman a leg up on the competition I started a workspace on Concept Share, so for my fellow team members look in your cruiser e-mails for the invite. My team members will be able to log in and look at my magazine design and actually critique it online. You can circle areas and make comments on what needs to be changed etc etc. I thought Team Coleman would be a great project to try this out on.

In other news. Today was Special K's birthday. We went to Kotos to eat, even though I am quite sick of Japanese food.

In Need of the CSS

I have noticed that in some of the web reading that I have done lately, CSS has been mention in correlation with something that designers need to learn. The following are examples:

@ Andy Budd - Look under the Specialise heading -> Middle of the second paragraph.

@ Graphic Push - Look under #3 at the bottom of the paragraph.

It seems that CSS is becoming another skill that designers need to have in order to more flexible in their workplace.

Quadra Lapsis

Had a bit of a off and on day today. Ate lunch with my mom and my sister. I really hate what happened. We went and ate ate Smokehouse, which I usually love even though the service there has gotten quite bad. They brought my food out and what do you know there are three hairs on my plate. Grossed me out. It took forever for the waitress to return so that I could inform her that I had a side order of hair that I didn't order. Really put a bad stamp on the ol' Smokehouse. Because they had to remake my order we were all late leaving so hence I didn't make it to my evening class (sorry Team Coleman) I would have been in there for 5 mins and would have had to leave.

On a positive note, I finished my back page ad for Team Coleman. It's ready to be reviewed by the team members. A.D. is off on a cruise for the rest of the week. Douche. I hope he has a lovely time. Douche. Wish I could have gone. Last night the Deftones played in Winston. I had to work as usual. Pisses me off thinking about it. Sorry. That was negative of me.

Lovely reading for the lovely.

Ghost-folio

I have misplaced some of my mounted pieces. As Lily noted today, I was a bit on the edge. Very straight to the point. I get like that when my list of things to do gets full. I just don't have time to put the nice little emphasis on things like normal. Also wanted to send another thank you to Lily for the movie package. Keep loves it. He's watching it right now.

Thanksgiving action days are coming up. I say this because I will be working 8-9 hour days everyday but Thanksgiving. So I have no idea when I'm supposed to get anything that is important in my life done. The family will be heading to Virginia while I stay back and work and redo our kitchen floor.

As for the good news, Kephren was selected for his grade as the terrific student of November. The presentation will start at 9:15am tomorrow so if anyone from Team Coleman reads this ( I may be late to the 10:00 class). I can't tell you how proud I am of him.

Blocks on string.

Lily made Keph a necklace with his name on it. He loves it Lily, thank you. I found the sketch above today while looking through summer sketches. I had forgot about this one. I drew this from my minds eye, so I guess this is how I see myself, lol. So I scanned it in and added color a while ago. Gots the saggy pants syndrome going on.

What beautiful weather we are having. I came home and opened all the windows, cranked up the music and worked on several projects including English. On a day like today I like to listen to stuff like Duncan Sheik. I've basically ran the new Deftones into the depths of my ears so I need something on the opposite end of the spectrum.

Finished the BOM Ad campaign. Our last GD II project was announced yesterday. I was also grouped with D., Lily, and Loni. Great group. Team Coleman. I'm excited about this project too. The budget adds a whole new element which I love. Basically we have 750,000 for advertising and such. Team Makita has already been talking smack, so the design war has begun. Hey Team Makita, get your own products and stay out of our GRILL.

Winston Philly Creme

Traveled to Winston today. Ate at the Hero house which was good but not as good as in the past. Then picked up a couple dozen Krispy Kremes. Hmm Hmm Snap those are good. Above is a logo I created for Macking. Not sure why but I did and now its done so there ya go. Because you know.... Macking Makes Sense. I want to get a shirt with the M and the circle on the front and then the "macking makes sense" across the back. May have to call screen printers unlimited to see how much a thermal print of that would be.

Hello Koto

Beach Bum complete w/ floaty-tube

Had good times in photography class while we watched and helped other people shoot their lighting shots. I got violated a few times while on the runway but that is to be expected in my line of modeling. Lily gave me madd cash for filling in for her in tutoring. Honestly did not expect or want to take it but she insisted. Thanks Lily.

Hit Kotos for lunch with A.D. and D. and got shafted on the helping of carrots. Broke out my Nikon N80 today but didn't really shoot any. I plan on bringing it back Wednesday and ripping off a few shots. During GD II, Dangerous V watched me manipulate the little cardstock man in some sweet dance postions. I also practiced my Napoleon D. dance moves. I think I pulled a hemmy.

The Village Lunch

Had a great lunch today with Vic, Lily, and Loni. I really like how the air is quite crisp at times. My kind of weather. Received new assignments in photography class. The journalism assignment should be interesting. The other assignment should be cool as well. I just have to some location and subject scouting. A subject or place that will be suitable for a large collage. I have always wanted to print out a series of 8x10's to place on the wall in a collage format to make one huge image.

Saturday Night Wrist

So here it flows. For the current book project I'm torn between doing a story of my own or Sleepy Hollow. The pics above are some sketches I did for a story that I made up about a kid who does the same thing everyday at the beach until one day he becomes a hero when he finds a lost bikini top in the water. He struggles what to do with the top, in ways that kids would use a garment, such as putting it on his head and acting like a pirate or using it as a bag for sea shells etc. all the while a woman is somewhere in the water topless. In the end he realizes what he must do and is the hero of the day when he saves her from total humiliation. I ran it by keph and he thought it was funny. So what chu guys think?

Also today is very special for me because I gotz the new Deftones album entitled Saturday Night Wrist. The longer you know me the more you will learn how much I admire the 'Tones and their music. They are hands down my overall fav. So far track 3 titled Beware is my favorite track. I'm all smiles with a neck ache from moving around too much.

Brunettes on the Cat Walk

Crazy day today. Lots of fun shooting with the photography crew downtown at the parking decks. Turns out V is like a natural super model and didn't tell anyone. TJ you lucky son of @#$%*. Shot in the lower decks for a while and then we headed out for some deep south BBQ at the Smokehouse. Over lunch the conversation was split between the newly assigned book project and naughty naughtyness of the naughty kind. I was talking about book binding myself. Lily had to leave early for work. I was thinking today how I never get to hang with Lily any more. Miss me some Lily.

After lunch we went to class where we were attacked by a wee man that liked kung fu and river dancing. Freaked me out kind of. He just kept looking at me with this crazed look on his face. Shat started making out with him and so that calmed the wee man down a bit.

We worked in class but it seemed one of those days were you get nada done because everyone was so wound up. A.D. and I ended the class by watching various videos on YouTube. It was a grand day indeed.

Happy Halloween.

First off... the illustration above, I drew this over the summer and I thought that it would be very fitting for current time period. Today Lily gave me a black rose for Halloween and Loni gave me a dandy treat bag for Keph and Shmee gave me a pubish looking hair net so that I could dress like a lunch lady. Thank you for all the gifts ladies.

New project announced in class. It will be designing a book, which is really odd considering that I ordered a book on hand bound books this morning. I initially ordered the book so that I could make a hand bound book as a promotional piece to send as a mailer portfolio piece. I want to make a hand-stitched book with various weights of paper with no glue. Complex in design, simple to read and navigate.

I have decided to write and llustrate a childrens book. I am currently brainstorming ideas to write about. Once the story is written I will then decide the style of illustration as well as the over all feel of the book. As Brian said, this will be a huge portfolio piece, so it is time to step it up. My main objective in this project is to communicate the story visually. Hopefully the illustrations will be strong enough that text shouldn't be a factor when flipping through to understand the overall context of the story.

Strawberry Milkshake

I find it amazing how one student that takes one class at WCC can have so much influence over an entire class of students. That is all I will say about that other than the strawberry milkshake that I saw walking around today.

AD and I made plans to go shoot some stuff Wednesday at the parking decks downtown. We are shooting during our regularly scheduled photography time, so if anyone else wants to go shoot with us then by all means let me know.

Yesterday Kephren received another cute little package in the mail from Lily. This time the prize was Pop Rocks. Needless to say he was super psyched.

I read an article about a japanese illustrator who basically locked himself in his apartment for a couple of years to dedicate himself to something that many people attempt but never succend. Its a great read for inspiration in doing what we creatives do. Check it out -> Gez Fry - Interview

Binding.

Ventured to Wake Forest University today. My American Lit. class visited the library on campus to take a closer look at 18th and 19th century books. Initially I wasn't really excited about the trip, being a student of design. We were taken to the third floor of the library to a small room concealed on one end of the building. As you entered into the room your eyes immediately flowed over the walls that were garnished with old cloth and leather bound books. Our presenter Megan did an excellent job with the volumes that she had hand selected before our arrival. Turns out she started talking about the binding techniques and letterpress. Everyone else was falling asleep while I listened with open ears. Megan approached the presentation more along the lines of a design perspective rather than a literary analysis. At least thats how I took it.

While visiting Wake, I got the feeling of being in the presence of greatness. I get the same feeling while visiting NC State. Being surrounded by smart people can do that to a person. With that said, I think great things will come of the 2nd year design students. Its great being a small part of the classes along with the teachers. As design students we're very lucky to have teachers that want to push the boundary's and leave room for our creative failures. I think this is great because I always learn more from my failures than I do my accomplishments.

Seeing Red Again,

The topic yesterday was "Red". Everyone was talking about the red headed girl in photography. I bet she has no idea how popular she is at school. During lighting studio yesterday, I felt bad for her because no one was helping her with her photographs. Basically, she only had every guy and most of the girls posing for her. I thought since she was being deprived of attention I would make casual conversation with her. It must be hard being in a class not knowing anyone and feeling like an outsider.

After class I seemed to make everyone mad at me. Amber was hating my guts for not going to eat Japanese. Shmee and Vic gave me dirty looks and threw a few "R" words in my face. Lily and I talked about fried apple pies which is awsome. The Shat, A.D. and I then headed for ice-cream. Good stuff. A.D. noticed that he had seen several people wearing eye-patches and I let out a hearty pirate sounding "Yaaaaarghhh!" Only to find out that ol' patchy was standing right behind me. I brought Loni some chocolate back but they didn't have cookie dough for Amber so I came back empty handed for her. I'm not going to talk about what went down after that.

So today we have a critique on our food products. Can't wait to mount it on a can.

Life Beyond Khakis

The image above is an exercise in illustration that I did for a random magazine article entitled "Life Beyond Khakis". Over the summer I revisted my love for drawing. Just read an article yesterday on how doodling helps keeps creativity fresh. For a lot of my rough work like quick figure sketchs they tend to grow on me over time. I did a quick sketch of a lady standing in a very boring pose and found it to so ugly. I left it on my desk all day yesterday and used it as a notepad for live-area and bleed measurements for the current Ad Campaign project. As I looked at it more often, I started to like the drawing more and more. Same with the img above, I did it about three months ago. I like it more and more everytime I see it. I think it is because my design work and illustration work are opposites. I like clean, simple layout and design and my illustration style is loose, messy and unorganized.

A long day of modeling....

Today, I was hired for a session of modeling. It always drains me when the photography staff on hand doesn't provide me with back to back cappuccinos. Above are some shots I did at random while Shmee was shooting her set.

Over the weekend I read a design article in which the author was explaining how its benificial to talk to others that are in different fields of work. The author was talking to his friend ( A Flash Programmer) about the flight of birds. The programmer explained how the bird's wings move and how they appear as they move farther and farther away. I could go into more detail but the main point of the article was to get others perception on things. In the field of design I think it will be benificial to look at the world through other peoples eyes. Not only to look through others eyes but to describe how to look through your eyes. An example of this would be when you are trying to sell an idea to a client, it would be to your advantage to help them to see what your seeing.

ZOO

Went to the Zoo in Asheboro Saturday. It was a perfect day for such an event. Keph was excited to see the Warthogs. We stood there forever and then he finally came out. We actually made it through both the North America and the Africa exhibits. I had a lot more fun this time than last. Last time I went with some friends from Eastern Carolina University and it was just too hot. One thing about the zoo is they have a lack of good food to eat there. We ended up having a pic nic in the parking lot, which Keph enjoyed because he chased the Geese around while the rest of us ate.

Lazy Five and the Crazy Little Girl in the Green Shirt.

Today was the Lazy 5 field trip day. I have to say that I am super tired. 1st graders can suck the life out of anything that moves. I had one girl in my group kept trying to take my camera then she tried to get my wallet. She is the one in the green shirt pictured up top. I was tempted to lock her in one of the barns until we were all ready to go. Keph got to feed Giraffes and Buffalos. The weather was really beautiful. I best part of the whole trip was just spending time with Keph. We actually stayed for a couple of hours after the school buses left. Its nice having no agenda to attend to.

We arrived home to check the mail and there Keph found a letter addressed to him! It was a neat little package from Lily. The letters' outter typography was great. Perfect choice. It was really sweet of Lily to take to the time to do that. Kephren was in awe that he actually had something for himself in the mail. Thanks again Lily!

I missed all of my classes today. I wish I could have been there for photography class. I developed my studio shots but havn't had the chance to scan them in.

Tomorrow, we are going to the zoo. hip hip.

Thursday Night Service Job

I had a lovely time today telling and listening to ghost stories at lunch. Gotz me cash flow money from work. Tomorrow Keph and I are going on a field trip to Lazy 5 Ranch. I went to the grocery store and bought us a lot of goodies to pack for our lunch tomorrow.

While I was at work Shmee and Shvic came in for some of my "Easy" service. Turns out that they are actually friends with a good friend of mine. How small the world seems sometimes. Maybe its just in Wilkes, who knows. Any who, they asked her if I used to mack on girls. They never revealed what she said but I will squeeze it out by Tuesday. So as they are leaving, I have some returns that I have to take back and put on the shelf and I freakin' start dropping them all over the place as I'm saying my goodbyes. My manager is two feet in front of me. He was like "looks like you just bought some merchandise."

Playa Playa!

Today I was trying to be nice to a student in our photography class because she always looks lonely. I'm not one to let one be lonely. In doing so, my friends thought I was pulling the moves on her. Which if I had pulled my moves on her, she would have probably thrown up. So now I'm going to have to throw down in an alley to set some people straight. I'm going to watch Rocky I - V tonight to prepare.

Before I offered my friendly greetings to the Red Headed photography student, Lily gave me a present. I'm am so stoked about these rolls of film. The Fuji on the top expired in Feb of 97'. The Kodak expired in Dec of 92'! And the Focal 100 expired Nov of 97'. Thank you so much Lily! I can't wait to see how the rolls turn out.

I also turned in my Box of Mischief book case project. I got some feedback from friends which consited of "You should be shot in the face!" and "You suck!" and "Over achiever!" I've never been told such things and still feel warm and fuzzy inside.

Mischief and Such.

Finished the Box of Mischief. I'm happy with the way it turned out. If I constuct the box about five more times I think I could get it perfect. The bends are tough because you have to compensate for material thickness as well as print thickness.

Monday, October 09, 2006

Yesir.

First official day of fall break. I worked on my Graphic Design II project from 8-11:30. I made a mock up of the childrens book box that I'm doing, it was constructed using matte board. The hardest part was bending the matte board so they it looked the way I wanted.

Matte Board tip #1-> Flip an exacto blade over and score the lines that you want bent. Do this over and over removing some of the material to make it easier to fold.

Matte Board tip #2 -> Place a ruler on the flat area while you fold the other part up. This gives the rest of the piece support while your doing the bending.

Overall it was a great day. Nice weather and lots of loud music while I worked on projects. I also did some loose illustrations but they came out like crap.

Nada...

To start things off, my power supply has died in my desktop. Its a rosewill 450 watt power supply that is only 8 months old. I'm thinking about going with an Antec smartpower 500 watt for my next round. So this is why I'm blogging in bed with my laptop. Makes me mad that I'm on fall break and no desktop. I guess all project work will have to be done on my trusty Mac with my trusty sidekick Mac the English Bulldog.

Tomorrow Renae and I are going to Greensboro for the Design event. D. also told me at work about a Design conference Thursday in Greensboro. If I can get off of work were going to make a trip down there to check it out.

Monday, October 02, 2006

I don't think anyone wants a round house kick to the face while I'm wearing these bad boys.

I turned in my action shots for photography class today. Over fall break I plan on shooting some more action shots because I certainly need practice. The gentleman to the left was an amazing goalie. My shutter speed was too slow, hence the very fuzzy picture. Honestly I was going for a static shot.

One of my favorite photographers currently is Jeremy Cowart. He has a great portfolio. Check it out:

Jeremy Cowart

Also watched the Adam Sandler movie Click tonight. It's funny but also has a lot of real world sadness wrapped up in it.

Ganking Ankles

Doing an early post today because I have to be at work tomorrow super duper early. Had lunch at the P. Hut. I love me some thin crust pepperoni pizza. Went with Amber and Lily outside to shoot pictures of the ducks. Lots of little baby ducks wagging their buts all over the place.

Around 1:30pm, Adam and I went downtown for some action jackson shots. We did some timelapse shots in the lower level of the parking decks, I hope those turn out ok. We found some great textures in the parking deck area, so we are heading back with our digitals in the future. Some shots turned out hurtful. Adam ganked his ankle one shot. His tripod lost a leg after a couple timelapse shots and I tripped over a concrete slab and fell on my butt. Great fun though. Can't wait to get these puppies developed. Speaking of.............Loni and Amber called me from Boone and it seems that Boone Drug is cheap as well as professional. I may have to try them out. Anything is better than Walgreens and Wal-mart.

Hail Storm to the Face

Yesterday around 4 in the evening, I looked out the window to see a crazy looking hail storm. It looked like large marbles falling from the sky. I talked to Adam later that night and he mentioned that when he was taking pictures of the clouds he saw them start to funnel slightly. When I left my house to go to work I noticed that the lighting outside was perfect for pictures. It was overcast, disersing light evenly. When the light outside is like this, its like ultra vision. Everything is really clear. Of course I never have my camera handy during such times.

I filled in for Chad yesterday. When I arrived they asked me if I was a second year and if I knew who was leaving the notes. I told them I was a second year and ignored the last part of the question as I greeted Amber in front of the Hor. Building. Amber and I gave the highdroolers a final critique which I must say, they were very respectful and polite through out the class. They listened to all of our suggestions. I think Amber would make a great teacher. She dealt with their spastic behavior very well. I went over the mounting process with them as well.

Kern Me Please!

Great weather today. I took Kephren to soccer practice. While I was there I asked two older hispanic gentlemen if I could take pictures of them play a bit of soccer. They both smiled and said something that I didn't understand, so I took that as a yes. I hope some of them turn out ok. I was using a wide angle lens so it may turn out blurry.
Today Amber told me that I made it into the finals for the Advanced E. Logos. Wendy also has a logo that made it. I havn't seen Wendy's but I think Amber's is a sure shot to win this one. I like her logo but I don't black and red are the right colors just because it is the same color scheme as Advance Auto.
Below is an Ad I did for Virgin Mobile. Over the summer I was contacted by Look Look Magazine about doing an ad for them. It was a contest sent out to certain people in which they had viewed their work. I think they sent out about twenty invites for the chance at the V. Mobile ad. It was great because at the time I did this, the phone in the ad wasn't even out yet. The theme of the ad had to be "Befriending a Mime". Do you know how many summer nights I stayed up brain storming that? Geez, it drove me nuts. They didn't supply any copy so I had to make that up as well. Target audience 18-30 years old etc... It may not look it but I put quite a few hours into the ad. Sweating all the details. In the end they contacted me telling me that some guy named Ben won it. I saw his ad a few weeks later in an issue of People Magazine. The ad went national in several magazines. Oh well. At least I tried.

Hair Nets and Shower Caps

Shmee brought me a little present today that consisted of a shower cap and a hairnet. Its around 11pm so I'll be putting those to use soon. Lily showed me her hurt finger. I know what it looks like but she is much nicer that such actions.

I fowled up when I told everyone that I was filling in for Chad today for the highdroolers. It turns out that I'm not supposed to be there until Thursday. Shloni and Shvic even skipped class to be envolved in the class critique. One girl in the class seems to have mouthed off to both Lily and Shloni. Silly highschoolers.

A bit of good news came my way today. Brian told me that I won one of the cover submissions to the North Carolina College Association ( I think that was it. Its been a long time since I submitted that piece, so I don't really remember.) Never the less, Brian and I are invited to Greensboro for a presentation. I hope we get a free meal out of the whole thing.

Chasing Zacharia

Another beautiful day. A day that should have been spent with friends. Instead I ran errands and ended up eating at Arbys. Which by the way, for all those ladies that love Orlando. Arbies has an Orlando dispenser. So you can pump Orlando all lunch long if you like.
I picked my film up from Walgreens around 6:19. Got a package of someone else's pics. Pissed me off so I threw them in the trash. Just kidding V.
Had a critique on the Pictograms today. Got tow upz. It was broughten.
Tonight I watched Lucky Number Sleven. Yes Sleven. It was alright. I thought the art director and director of photography did a good job. I'm distracted in movies by the way the locations and backgrounds look. I love a movie that is well done visually.
I don't watch a lot of T.V. but probably the best thing I have watched in years is the HBO series Carnivale. Its two seasons long and its dark, creepy, and one of the best written, acted, visual experiences that has ever been produced.

Sunshine with a Mix of Exposed Emotion?

What a grand day to be outside. The weather was so nice today. We had a large-group lunch and afterwards we visited the Merle Watson Stage for a bit of photography. Poor Lily was having trouble with her camera again today. Sounds like some of my luck has rubbed off on her. I hope the other camera she ordered works ok. Never the less, always good times with the Wenis crew.

<- The Illustration to the left was for the cube project but I pulled it because I found pictures that communicated the message better.

I believe I'm going with a different layout for project II in graphic design II. Its time to step it back up a notch on the projects. So far this semester my work has been lacking due to a more hectic schedule. No more of that. I will cut out more sleep time to bring my work back up to where I'm at least satisfied with it.

Mac Mac hasn't used the bathroom in the house in three days. I'm so proud. I visited Wal-greens tonight and bought 4 rolls of 200 color film. Only 5.99$ I plan on shooting more Lomo stuff soon. Also because I am a visual person, I intend to bring my digital camera to school to take random shots from time to time to post here on the blog. Should complement my weak style of writing.

Flickr Madness.and the Hush Hush Kids

I hope the flickr group turns out to be useful. Everyone started signing up in class today.

Adam and I looked over some Lomo LC-A goodness today. I'll be bringing back my LC-A so that he can borrow it and see how he likes it.

I also had fun filling in for Chad's typography class. There are about six high school students in the class . I had them print out their projects and put them up on the board. Adam skipped math so he could join the fun. On each project I basically asked them to describe their ideas behind what they had posted up. I think for the most part all of them have got the jist of the project. Some had potential but I also must remember that they are green pre-first years and they have plenty of time to grow. Overall, they were a very quite group except for one kid. He was constantly asking questions. Next time I'll be bringing a thick wooden ruler to solve that problem.

Punk Anal

I feel kind of bad because today I was trying to shoot a delicate situation that went down at lunch. Lily was trying to take care of business and there I was making things much worse. She said I was a punk ass for doing so. Sorry Lily.

I came up with a solution for sharing photos in photography class. I have made a Flickr forum so that everyone can upload and share their photos. So everyone needs to make a flickr account and let me know their username so I can invite them. It will be private to only members that I invite from class so no one has to worry about people seeing pictures of themselves. The forum can also be used as an area to post pics for critiques etc. The Forum is ready to rock. I just need user names. My flickr user name is Fak3 if anyone wants to send me a message.

My Neck... My Back...

The cube be done. The dye for project two is done. I chose the fold out cd dye by the way. I'm currently listening to Ronnie Milsap's -> Smokey Mnt. Rain. Good stuff.

My Sunday was very boring. Work. Homework. So I'll throw in an illustration of sparrows that I did over the summer for my absence of text.

Mcdonalds Stalker

Today I head over to McDonalds for a bite to eat during work and the Manager is standing outside telling this guy that he can never come back. Turns out that this guy has been stalking certain employees in Mcdonalds. The weird part is that the guy looked really normal. He was well dressed and polite looking. Kind of creeped me out.

Tonight was Mandys last night with Staples. She is heading to Compu Credit. Tonight is also the night of Lily's bonfire which I couldn't attend. Wonder if ol' Cackle Kid will be there? I bet he would be the life of the party after a few beers.

Tonight I shall cut and construct my cube. It should only take me five hours to do.

Tightness!

Today at lunch some last semester humor was exposed. I love seeing the interaction between two friends when one of them spills too many beans. I was laughing at their reactions and I didn't even know what they were talking about. Anywho, I'm am super excited about having a goatee now!

I also picked up my portrait pics from Walgreens tonight and just scanned them in. They turned out pretty good. A lot of them I didn't have the focus dead on so they are some what blurry. I also went into work tonight and Laken came up to me and said "Your not supposed to be here". They changed the schedule sometime through the week and I didn't see it. So never the less I worked on my night off.

Blocks in my head.

Just finished working on the War Cube. All images are now in the right place. I guess I'll take the PDF's to print tomorrow. Then I'll spend my weekend constructing it and making it look supa sweet.

On the bright side, Mac is feeling better. He had a round with regurgitation. I bought him a huge bag of food today to refill that pot belly of his.

I worked tonight and once again got a technical support call. It amazes me how many people call staples that have no tech support for their computers any more. I understand why companies charge $70 an hour for tech support. Its lengthy and very boring.

Rainy days and Drugs

I have felt damp all day today from having to walk from class to class in the rain drizzle. I had a bit of fun in photography class today when we all met to take portraits of each other. I can't wait to see how those turn out. On the downside, it seems that some people think that I do drugs. Yes my dear readers, my appearance gives off the impression that I'm a junkie. Just because I rub my gums constantly and have powder rings on my nostrils does not mean I'm a crack addict!

Currently doing a project juggling act. I'm finishing up projects while new projects present themselves. I think the next project in Graphic design II will be cool. Product design can be intense but if done right, rewarding.

Tonight I finished my Advanced Electronics logo submissions. I think it has been good practice for doing a logo for a crappy named company or business. The crap to the left is a few of the ones that I will be turning in. The coolest thing about the project is that someone I know will score the win and I can say that I know who design the logo for AE. The best of luck to all that enter.

Mac Mac

For some reason I can not break Mac of going to the bathroom in the house. I took him out this morning for about 30mins. As soon as we got back in the house he used the bathroom. Both No.1 and No.2. Its driving me crazy.

The Hi Five.

I went to work today to get my check and I'm talking to Special K for a while. During the conversation I get like three or four Hi-Fives. So my question is, what ever happened to the Hi-Five? I know back in the 80's and early 90's, tons of people on a daily basis would throw up a Hi-Five here and there as a sign of joy. I gotta say that it looks really dorky now to do it but I'm still down with the Hi-Five.

I'm a Lomography winner!

Shower Mist, originally uploaded by FAK3.

I was notified today that I won OSCM for lomo addiction. For those that do not know what lomography is: Lomography is a term used for those who shoot with a Lomo LC-A camera. I purchased my camera from e-bay around 3 years ago and love shooting with. My photo will be on the front page of the shot until someone else wins.

Lomography Shop

Myspace and the wicked kicker.

Today I signed up for a myspace. Should be very cool for networking and friends.
I also got my photography test back and I made a 99. Not too shabby.

Over lunch I went home to mount my bag and ended up cleaning up a mess that Mac ( my new English bulldog) made and signing up for myspace. I think Mac gets pissed when I "crank up the jams". It must hurt his wittle ears.

Blogging Fa Health

My doctor suggested that I start blogging to help keep myself in excellent mental shape.
